France's national stadium
Opened in January 1998, the Stade de France seats about 80,000 for rugby and is home to the French national team. It is in Saint-Denis, just north of Paris, rather than in the city itself.
How to get there
- RER D: Stade de France - Saint-Denis, then a walk of 10 to 15 minutes.
- RER B: La Plaine - Stade de France, then a walk of 10 to 15 minutes. A standard t+ ticket is not valid to this station, so buy an Ile-de-France ticket for your full journey.
- Metro 13: Saint-Denis - Porte de Paris, about five minutes from the northern gates.
- Metro 14: Saint-Denis Pleyel, then a walk of 20 to 25 minutes.
On the day
Check engineering works on the RER before you travel, and note your last train back. A sell-out crowd means long queues at the stations after the final whistle, so do not plan a tight connection.
